It has been amazing the comments the Republicans and conservatives have been making about Obama holding off on the Keystone Pipeline - they say we are losing tons of jobs, shame on Obama. The wordplay instituted by the far right is amazing. I'm a therapist and it is easy for me to see through manipulation - that's a reason it is very hard for me to buy a car, because that is the only way some people know how to do so. I have walked out on salesmen. Anyway, I can't stand it when I hear clips of Limbaugh or Fox News putting their spin on things.I do appreciate media matters as they are keeping an eye on things like that. And yes, I understand that they would say the left wing does the same thing, but the therapist in me tells me there's more truth on some reports than others. Anyway, in reports today from clean energy advocate groups, they spoke about what a problem it would be to build the pipeline and if there were leaks, it could be devastating to the central part of the country. Look what happened in the Gulf Coast with an accident. No one can prevent the accidents. And this pipeline is not to benefit the US - it is to take oil from the gulf to Canada to their oil companies that provide to the world. It may even increase our gas prices. It could devastate the farmers. And in the company's own report, it would not provide that many jobs. I liked the clean energy perspective of focusing on alternative energy sources and there would be many jobs in doing so, and we would not be so reliant on oil - which I have had a hard time paying for the gas prices. And they will probably never go back down that much again. Let's not forget the $4.00 a gallon times. When it drops, we all move on, but we need to be diligent in seeing that some other options are developed. That is why NO keystone pipeline.
