Time Magazine Person of the Year

It's pretty good that Time chose their person of the year as "The Protestor." I did not read the magazine, but have heard it on the radio and seen it on the internet, so I don't have all the facts. But I know that I respect the protestors - I remember how pleased I was when those in Wisconsin began showing up at the state capitol. I personally live 1 hour away from Madison, the capitol, and I was born in Wisconsin but live in Illinois so was not personally affected by the damage Scott Walker has done, but psychologically and emotionally, I do care very passionately about what has been happening in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. I listen to progressive talk radio and MSNBC, so I know that it is one perspective, but for me, they do make it all fit together, and I happen to believe what they say, because I am an intelligent person who has lived through many changes. I am a baby boomer, who saw the 60's. My dad was a union member and it helped us survive financially. He was a veteran without other training, so needed job support. But I have seen the changes and the decline happening during Bush's reign - I don't need the newscasters to tell me about it. I also know what responses I get from what senators and representatives when I contact them, and I'm not impressed most of the time. I am a very liberal thinker who lives a fairly conservative lifestyle, but do not believe it is my job, or the job of the right wing to tell me how to live. It is my choice about my life.
I wonder what happened to the integrity of many of our elected officials. They are out for themselves, not concerned about people without jobs, not enough food to eat, unemployment benefits being cut off - how do they expect people to live. Since there is not a job to go get in many areas. Yet, currently, the Republican congressman are willing to vote down anything from Obama regardless of how it affects the real people - the 99%. Shame on them. So, everyone keep speaking up.
Let them have it with our unity, our votes, and our voice. Goodness should win in the end, and hopefully, our country will start returning to the great country we have always been. We can take it back. The 99% is the majority and we should not be a country where the decisions are not about who has the most $$$.
